Who We Are
The winner of the Miss Marine Universal online competition will undertake a 5 months of ocean conservation campaigns to educate and inspire the desire in all of us to do our best to safeguard our oceans. The online pageant will also offer her a unique and comprehensive platform to launch her career and personal development within the industry.
The Miss Marine Universal online pageant was held for the very first time in 2015. There has been many pageant held in the past, many embracing great causes, however none yet have focused on our oceans. Life on Earth as we know it today began with our oceans. Thus, we decided that it is time that an event such as this is produced to celebrate, not only, the inner beauty and courage of today's modern men and women, but also to simultaneously advocate worldwide marine conservation. Beauty Conserving Ocean and Beauty with a Substance are the core principle of the organization. It upholds not only showcasing physical beauty and superficiality but also provides the necessity for the candidates to have a heart for the Ocean.
Miss Marine Universal OLP believes in sustainable development within the realms of marine environment and hopes that by sharing the beauty and wonders of the underwater world with the help of beauty ambassadors, more people will get a better understanding of the oceans, and how they can help to protect these fragile bodies of water. Additionally, we also aim to promote safe diving practices through worldwide professional training organizations, and elevate international tourism and cultural appreciation. As people travel to far off destinations to dive, they also learn to appreciate the cultural diversity that makes our world such an interesting tapestry.
Although this is our first endeavor in such an event and a gamble, we are hopeful in garnering support from those who are determined to see our Ocean and thus our Earth survive for many more generations to come.
History
Miss Marine Universal OLP is founded in 2015 by The World of Online Pageant (TWOP) and it is now under R.A.A Productions, Inc. based in Cagayan, Philippines. The online pageant's original name was Miss Scuba International OLP but because of ownership issue from the real Miss Scuba International Pageant (Malaysian based), it was later changed its name to Miss Scuba Universal. It was only on its 2nd Season when the brand MISS MARINE UNIVERSAL was born.
The first online pageant was inagurated in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia at Sutera Harbour. Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was the first woman crown as Miss Scuba International (Miss Marine Universal S1). Ruqqayah Boyer bagged the Miss Scuba Universal 1st Princess and 2nd Princess was Kosovo's bet Marigona Dragusha.
Second Season was held outside Asia in the Atlantis Paradise, Nassau, Bahamas. Brazil's bet Marthina Brandt named as the 2nd Miss Scuba Universal (Miss Marine Universal S2) while Australia's Monika Radulovic ended as Miss Marine Ocean and Elmira Abdrazakova of Russia hailed as Miss Marine Sea.
After 2 successful season, the online pageant was brought for the first time in European soil with Greece as the host country. Miss Marine Universal S3 was the darkess season of the online pageant because it was canceled due to unknown reason. In order to cover the mess, the organization decided to appoint a winner of Miss Marine Universal S3 throught Global Fan Vote. Mary Jean Lastimosa won the Global Fan Vote making her the second Miss Marine Universal from the Philippines after Pia Wurtzbach. On the ther hand, Miss Marine Ocean S3 was handed over Jakelyne Oliveira who almost make a back-to-back win. Venezuela's Irene Esser named as Miss Marine Sea. The announcement was held during a press conference at Novotel Manila.
The online pageant make its comeback in Philippines, its home-based. The Season 4 was held for the first time in Laoag, Ilocos Norte.The highlight of the online pageant was the photoshoot of the candidates in the different tourist spots of the province. The final show was held in Cenntenial Arena attended by the past queens of Miss Marine Universal. USA won their first Miss Marine Universal crown with Deshauna Barber, the first back woman who crowned Miss Marine Universal and the second crown for the America continent. Miss Colombia Paulina Vega named as Miss Marine Sea S4, 2 sub-titles were inagurated: Miss Humanity Queen and Miss Intercultural Heritage who won by Russia's Yulia Alipova and Iris Mittenaere of France respectively.
On its 5th Season, changes are happened in Miss Marine Universal online pageant. Titles like Miss Marine Ocean and Miss Marine Sea were change to sub-titles: Miss Humanity Queen and Miss Intercultural Heritage. From Season 1 to Season 4, titles like Miss Marine Ocean and Miss Marine Sea are among the title at stake, but in its 5th Season these titles were change to sub-titles: Miss Humanity Queen and Miss Intercultural Heritage. It is also on its 5th Season when the 6 Fast Tracks were launched the Beach Beauty, People's Choice, Artistic, BWAS, Top Model and Multimedia. At the end of the event in Cotai Arena in Macau, China, Keysi Sayago slayed the Picturepretation round earning her the title Miss Marine Universal S5 with Karen Ibasco as Miss Humanity Queen and Clarissa Molina as Miss Intercultural Heritage.
